Nikolaos Oikonomou is a General Practitioner consultant and an Academic Tutor at the Hellenic Open University.
He studied medicine in Medical School / University of Athens. He then underwent Specialist training in General Practice/Family Medicine in Konstantopouleio General Hospital of Athens and Health Centre of Vyronas.
He holds a MSc degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London. He also holds a PhD Degree in the academic field of primary care from the Medical School / University of Athens.
Nikolaos has received post-graduate training in numerous scientific fields, such as Geriatric Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Substance Abuse, Epidemiology, and Statistics.
Nikolaos has many years of experience in various salaried health care posts. He has worked as a Consultant General Practitioner in the Health Centre of Gennadi, Rhodes for seven years. He has run programs of telemedicine and health promotion in his working environment.
